The Smith Legacy
"One of Gordon Smith's earliest memories is stepping into
the freezer of a pea processing plant his family owned and feeling the cold
air on his face. He saw rows and rows of boxed vegetables, ready for shipment.
He saw his grandfather and father at work that day, long ago in the plant.
For him, it produced an image frozen in time. Gordon hoped then that he would someday continue the
family food processing tradition. Though he grew up in Maryland, he returned
to the rolling hills of northeast Oregon, and purchased the company his grandfather
founded. |

Today, when Gordon talks about
peas, his enthusiasm is contagious. There is the color, the texture, the
temperature to consider. And of course, there is the taste. Whether we're describing our facilities, our products
or our people, we want you to picture the care we put into our operations,
and give you some food for thought." |
